Kettenbrückengasse ... or the Chain Bridge Alley (Vienna)
This lively place is the entrance to the Kettenbrückengasse, a Metro Station in Vienna, conveniently located right next to the well known Naschmarkt. If you don't enjoy walking, this is the best way to get to the market and enjoy all the delicacies being sold there. 😋
You'll see plenty of tourists with suitcases walking around, since this is a perfect place to stay and visit the city. There are a lot of hotels, restaurants and supermarkets nearby... and the main landmarks of the city are at a walking distance from here.🚶
Kettenbrückengasse is also the name of the bridge where the Metro Station is located and this name is composed of 3 words in German: Chains (Ketten), Bridge (Brücken) and Alley (Gasse). As the name suggests, it's a Chain Bridge built to allow the passage of people between both sides of the Vienna River.
The bridge was constructed in the first part of the 19th century and is still holding strong.
