[Guide] Lazy Laymans Guide to Cryptocurrency. #Getting Started.

FYI: This guide is not financial or investment advice. Do not spend more than you can afford to lose and do not jump farther than you can safely land.

With that out of the way, if you are reading this you have somehow someway heard of or are curious about these new buzzwords: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Cryptocurrency, Cryptos. If so this guide is a quick start for all those new people looking to get started but choosing not to spend hours looking at whitepapers, milestones and technical jargon(which I highly recommend since your hard earned money is at stake) but if you're intent on jumping head first and sorting it out later, here's how.

NOTE:

This is the one word to rule them all SECURITY!! If you do not use any other information from this guide, burn the word SECURITY Into your brain from this moment forward. There should be no more short, easily guessed, sequential, re-used passwords from this point forward. I may write a Lazy Laymans Guide To Security if there is a demand for it.(shameless plug, I know)

We will be using Coinbase.com. This choice will be deemed controversial by more "seasoned" users but it is the easiest entry point by far if you are located in the U.S. or other supported countries.

Always make sure you are visiting the correct website by checking the address bar for the correct url/address as pointed out below. Again SECURITY!

Now enter your email address and "Get Started." Making sure to use a good strong password when signing up(yep you guessed it SECURITY!)

Now check your email and click the link provided to verify your account.

Once you have verified your account, follow the steps to complete setting up your account, which includes adding your credit/debit card and or bank account. (I didn't show screens for these steps due to reasons of SECURITY)

Also be sure to enable 2-Factor Authentication which allows you to use your mobile phone as a second layer of what......????

SECURITY: That's right!!

Now that you have went through the steps of setting up a secure Coinbase.com account you are ready to buy your first bit of Cryptocurrency Lazy Laymans style!
