Lavandula

Original photo, no filter. Took this shot here a couple months ago in the heart of the summer. The sun was shining bright as the photo ops presented themselves left and right. Good looking lavender flower here in it's prime, so flush. If you zoom in and look closely you can see little blue dots, pretty neat. The green leaves in the background help push the flower front and center for display and presentation. It's always best I've noticed to have a solid darkish color as background, especially if the object you're shooting is bright and vibrant. The contrast helps make the art look better on the screen. Another cool feature from this shot is how the sun is coming in on the left hand side and then on the right it's more shadow based. It's all about comparing what you see in the portrait, sometimes using contrasting opposites help one see things clear.
