Exploring the Wreckage of a Junkyard – Finding Beauty in Forgotten Places

My insatiable desire to find beauty in the otherwise forgotten and destroyed has driven me to some interesting places. I went to explore a junkyard just to see what mysteries lay within. The owners were pleasant enough to let me wander with my camera, even though they knew I would never buy anything. Here are the photos from my trek.

Walking into this RV I didn't really know what to expect. It was very apparent that a raccoon family had made home here, for reasons you may be able to guess. Oh, the places where getting the right angle will drive you.

Seeing these old beauties all broken down, soon to be gone forever made me wonder what stories their parts had to tell.

For reasons unknown, I have always wanted to fix up an old bug.

After taking this image, I found that the glint of the Sun made it look like there was a fresh cut orange sitting inside. I think it brings some nice color to the composition.

This [below] is perhaps one of my favorite images I have ever taken. I think the way the white exterior is quickly cut by the window revealing the destruction inside just makes it so powerful.

How many miles have all of these rims taken travelers?

Where have they gone, where haven't the been?

Another look at the inside of the RV. Even though it was covered in raccoon poop and fairly old, I was surprised at how many of the fittings were still present.

I get so much enjoyment from finding things other people have forgotten. Maybe it's something like one man's trash is another man's treasure. Except I don't want the trash, I just want to photograph the trash.
