A Nighttime in the Forest - Water Color Painting Tutorial with Some Videos

I had always been inlove with the night. The night and me are best friends and I never became afraid of the dark.

The last time that I even hold a paintbrush was highschool days wherein you are required to do an artwork during M.A.P.E.H. (Music, Arts, Physical Education and Health) class as a part of the curriculum and as you all know I do not have any confidence in what I am doing.

The artist is me is not yet been born yet I guess. But as we all know, the only one that can stop you on doing what you love is yourself so I did challenge myself on doing something again.

I watched a youtube video on how to use a watercolor as a medium and I did liked the results and even a beginner like me can definitely do it.

First is the materials used.

It is a specialty board the good thing about using this is even though it is wet the paper was not destroyed in the process. If you will be using a regular type writing pad. Chances are the paper will be torn into pieces.

Then the microwaveable plastic thingy, I do not know what is the name but I used this as a container for water.

Lastly the Pebeo Water Colors. These are just some old stuff from my younger brother who is really into arts. For me I am just testing this hobby :)

Okay now we have the items available time to start the painting.

Using the clean white cardboard, you just need to paint it using the dark blue color. The end sides should be darker and then the middle part should be lighter. On doing so, you just need to scribble the board. There's no rule on what shape will you do as long as you will be able to cover the whole page.

Yeah that is how your kid is doing this art just random scribbles and stuff.

You will need more patience on doing the layer part because you will need to make sure that all will be covered. No worries perfection is not we are aiming here. PURE ENJOYMENT only.

So after 15 mins or so here's the result of scribbling.

Now it is the time to add the stars in the night to do so you just need to use your brush and hold the tip of it and then spray it. I am not really good with words so here's the video on what I did :p

I am holding my phone in my left hand so all of the activities are done with my right hand there.

Then the last part is painting the trees.

Using the black color, you just need to first add some straight lines. Then try to make the trees somehow not the same. Like one is higher than the other in that way it will look like a forest.

The shape and the size of the trees will depend on how do you want to see the trees. I just painted random tree sizes and how I see some trees there.

Okay time for a selfie!

The steps are really easy and for sure a beginner can definitely do it too. I did not input my username and tag on the image because it might ruin the painting hahaha.
