Thousands of guerrilla weapons were crushed in Brazil

On Wednesday, Brazilian authorities oversaw the destruction of thousands of weapons confiscated from armed gangs throughout the year.
The army destroyed about 2,000 rifles and miscellaneous weapons, while it would be recycled for use for other purposes.

A mechanism is used to manipulate various weapons using a heavy steel cylinder.

Unarmed weapons will be donated to police departments across the country, an army officer said.

Since early 2017, Brazil has destroyed some 43,000 weapons, the authorities said.
