Bitcoin is a vehicle for fraudsters, warns Goldman Sachs boss

in #bitcoin7 years ago

The boss of Goldman Sachs became the latest high-profile critic of bitcoin, claiming it is a vehicle to commit fraud as the value of the cryptocurrency plunged 20% in less than 24 hours.

Lloyd Blankfein, chief executive of the US investment bank, said: “Something that moves 20% [overnight] does not feel like a currency. It is a vehicle to perpetrate fraud.”

What's really funny, is that I was talking with a group of fellow crypto enthusiasts & investors, and we knew that someone of Jamie Dimon's caliber would be coming out and saying something exactly like this.

Telling us what a sham it is out of one side of his mouth, and directing some agent or other to trade crypto aggressively.

He's right, actually. It's not acting like a currency. Litecoin does a much better job of that. Bitcoin is more of an awesome digital store of value, insured by math, which it turns out is more secure than Fort Knox!

The laws of math will not be broken!

Errrr, at least not in this day and age.
