Amazon To Accept Bitcoin and Litecoin By October 2017?

in #bitcoin7 years ago

Since the beginning of this year, there has been several speculations going on with the adoption of cryptocurrency as a means of payment by Amazon. This news was gotten from a newsletter from The James Altucher Report, stating that Amazon will officially announce on October 26 about the adoption of bitcoin and Litecoin during their earnings conference call.

Although, a petition was written around June by Change.org which was addressed to Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos urging the organisation to accept bitcoin and litecoin as a means of payment (https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/change-org-petition-urges-amazon-accept-bitcoin/). Few days ago, I noticed so many articles spreading the news that Amazon has agreed to do this. However, I still see this as a speculation and I have not been able to get a legitimate news online from a reputable cryptocurrency media website (such as coindesk, cointelegraph etc) or any direct news from the CEO himself. However, if this is true, then it is a very good news for blockchain technology and the first 2 digital currencies to ever exist as well.

If you have any legit news link as mentioned above, kindly share it. Let us know your opinion as well regarding this news and if truly accepted, what it will mean for the future of blockchain technology.

Cheers!
