bones and faerie flowers pt 1

~ a slightly pretentious ~

and seemingly random

photo art montage

I like going for nature walks so I can document the essence of life

with my camera, I attempt to capture the elements of sun, earth, wind and rain

in a flower, a piece of bark, or a bone. I collect the fragments -

odd pieces that attract my eye, as the raven is mesmerized by the shiny stone

lines connect in my mind, like pieces of a puzzle with a quiet space in between

lending fragility to the poetry of nature

behold hectate embodied in the earth; maiden, mother and crone

the triple goddess changes form, and the earth becomes her throne

You do have a good eye for photography!
The third picture kind of looks like the seed pod from a milkweed plant.
That sunset picture is awesome! You really captured the color well!

thats exactly what it is! a couple of people thought it was a bird wing or a feather. it's difficult to fathom until you look at the size of the stones nearby.

ooohh this is really nice torico!!

I can't make up my mind if that pic there is a feather of a wing of a bug or something...

i'm thinking you mean the third down, which is what the wispy stuff looks like before its seeds come out of the pod. it's very compact and so soft that you want to make a pillow from it, but once it bursts, you see how a tiny gust of wind will carry it miles away to replant itself. see my next post for the fluff..

the last photo looks like heaven is on fire. Awesome @torico. I am loving the journey you are on communicating more with pics than words which leaves room for so much interpretation and so many ah ha moments.

I love this! The photos, the framing, your words, everything! Where did you find all these? So awesome. The spirits are definitely communicating with you!

amazing what one can find in the outside world...

I love them all, but that last one is truly amazing... What went through your mind, seeing the sky on fire like that..?

I was too busy switching cameras to think on it much at the time :P

Very nice photos. I have been trying to find animal bones to photo myself. But I had no luck. I saw deer bones in a field some time ago, but I did not have a camera then.

these were an unexpected find. for as much as i live rurally, bones are very difficult to come by. it's rather off because they nave to go somewhere, and i assume many animals and birds die in their homes so the remains are hidden, or perhaps they decay much faster than one would think. my next part has more bones.

You got lucky. I live in a place where it rains a lot so things decay faster I guess due to the high moisture

ya right now somewhat dry - even with all the summer storms, CO is fairly low humidity

Its very high humidity here.

i know ;) my sis used to live in houston. i refused to visit her lol..

Gorgeous pictures! There's something so magical about finding feathers. I always feel lucky. ❤️
