Wife and Old stump

My wife in warm blood sometimes calls me an "old stump". Here I look at it, lonely in the woods and try to draw parallels with myself. Yes, the years have battered us. It's not surprising when you are cut to the root. We all come to this world for this. 

However, another pleases.  There is noisy and sporting young people around and you do not stand stump-stumbling alone in this whole vast world. Yes, and the wife is next to me. She has everything on the spot. So, and the "old stump" is still going to fit something ...
