The second rune of the Elder Futhark is Uruz.

There are different versions of the translation of the name of this rune - a bison, a wild bull. Somehow I even heard the "bear". This is also similar to the truth, because we know the names of the constellations Ursa Minor and Ursa Major.

But the subtleties of translation are not too important for us now. Much more important is the meaning of runes.

In a broader sense, we are talking about wild animals. Let's mentally go back to the days when runes were widely used in prediction. Here the hunter is going on a hunt and asks if the hunt will be successful. The direct rune Uruz falls. It says: "There are animals in this forest", that is "hunting may be successful".

Why only "may be"? Why not "it will be"?

This rune speaks of the possibility, the prospect. In this forest there are animals and if you do everything right, your hunting will be successful. That is, all the conditions for you are created, make an effort. But the wild animals themselves will not come to you and will not climb voluntarily on a spit to become your dinner.

Uruz also says that there is room for maneuver. It means "clean sheet", it gives you space and energy to re-create the idea. You were given a space in which you can do what you want. What will you do with this blank sheet? Write poetry? Draw? Doing origami? Throw it away? The choice is yours.

Thus, it depends only on the person himself whether he will use the potential that the rune Uruz gives him.

In the energy of Uruz- emotionality, instinctiveness, following impulses. This is all that distinguishes wild animals from domestic animals. The wild animal does not suppress its instincts, they manifest themselves very clearly and it follows them. It is believed that the strength of Uruz masculinity and femininity are merged, and therefore it is used as one of the most powerful runes of love magic. Uruz is often interpreted as a fleece of power, energy, including magical and sexual, as well as the rune of masculinity and femininity as a manifestation of the energy of a man or woman in the most pure form. In fact, Uruz allows to manifest both the potential of relations and the potential of the participants in these relations.

Uruz is also the rune of luck. Uruz helps in healing, especially if a person is weakened by a severe and prolonged illness, and also helps to feel the joy and fullness of life. Being one of the runes of fertility, it often directly points to pregnancy (easy and desirable). This is a very emotional and vital rune. But it is important to remember that Uruz does not say anything about the intellectual side of the issue or situation. It's more about the flair of a wild beast.

In business, Uruz can mean a new field of activity, luck, profit.

The outcome of the situation will depend on the effort, but the potential is very good.

Direct Uruz means that you have a wonderful opportunity to implement your plans and ideas. True, whether you can do this depends on you, but everything you need to implement your idea into reality will be in abundance. It can also indicate love, passion. It also can mean pregnancy. This pregnancy will be easy, healthy.

Inverted Uruz - "there is no wildfowl in this forest". It indicates a lack of space and limited opportunities. The old experience, resentment, outdated ideas about something do not allow us to move freely, to implement plans. Maybe there is not that space (clean sheet) on which or from which something can arise. In any case - the beginnings can die out due to lack of strength or a place for its application. The obstacle inside us, inside the situation. May also mean an unsuccessful or unwanted pregnancy.

Background Uruz "in the future" says that opportunities will arise and spread gradually.

Background Uruz "in the past" says about the gradual reduction of opportunities.

Hidden Uruz. Even if you do not see the opportunities to implement your idea - in this situation they, nevertheless, are. Although, it is likely that someone else is already using them. Think about it carefully.

Uruz in the base. Rune, based on Uruz, stems from the unlimited possibilities of the Uruz rune. Perhaps, here we are talking about creativity in the purest form, simply out of a desire to try our hand at it. In any case, it is at the rune, lying over Uruz, there are all possibilities for the most complete and powerful manifestation.
