Beautiful Blue Flower - But What Is It Called???

friday blue.jpg

I was fortunate enough to come across this beautiful little flower on my travels this morning and thought to myself, ''That'll do me for my Friday Blue!'' :)

I have no idea what the name for this flower is so if anyone happens to know please share it with me in the comments section. This was one of many different coloured flowers on a large bush so I'm thinking that it may be some kind of rose or related in some way at least. I have another one all ready to go for Sunday Purple as well and I'll also include a photo of the full bush in all of it's glory! :)

I had a little bit of trouble with yesterdays Thursday Green in that when I posted it the image wasn't appearing on the feed screen but when I clicked on the post it was fine. If anyone could let me know what may have happened so that I can avoid the same again in future I would really appreciate it!

Hope you enjoyed my entry for Friday Blue of the #colorchallenge and that you are all having an excellent day!!

Hydrangea-- quite beautiful! Something I didn't know about these (we have some in our garden) is that you can influence the colour with the kind of mineral supplements you put in the soil where they grow.

They are really beautiful. They seem a little out of place where I live in sunny Scotland :) I don't have a garden myself at the moment but hoping to have one day and I will be looking to have some Hydrangea in it so I will remember your advice about the mineral supplements. :)

Thanks a gain @denmarkguy. Hope your day is going really well!

It's a Hydrangea! These gorgeous, blossoms are native to southern and eastern Asia (China, Japan, Korea, the Himalayas, and Indonesia) as well as the Americas. They come in a variety of colors aside from blue.
One of the islands in the Azores, is called the "blue island" because of all the blue hydrangeas that grow there.
Personally, blue hydrangeas remind me of summers on Cape Cod. I remember seeing these bright blue blossoms contrasted against the weathered gray or white siding of beach cottages. A beautiful sight!

Thanks so much for that @eyeofthestorm. Can't think how they managed to find their way to Scotland OR how they manage to survive here! :) There are lots of different coloured Hydrangea on the bush I mentioned in my post. I'm going to post a picture of it on Sunday along with my Sunday Purple entry! They are very beautiful!

Hope your day is going well my friend and thanks again for solving that mystery for me! :)

You're very welcome! Glad I could help. Looking forward to your Sunday Purple entry!

Thanks buddy nice share :)
