An Update On @Casper01
Some of you may remember that I was trying to help a friend called Casper by introducing him to steemit in the hope that it might be able to make a positive difference in his life. Unfortunately the time has come when I have to admit defeat. Despite numerous attempts to get him started and despite his assurances that it was definitely something he was keen to get involved in, he has yet to log on or make any posts and the account which I set up for him is still idle. When I laid out my intentions to help him I said that I wanted to help someone who wanted to help themselves but unfortunately all of the effort has been on my part and not reciprocated by Casper. Communication has always been initiated by myself despite the fact that I know he has a mobile phone with unlimited capacity to make calls so I am forced to admit that perhaps I may have been misguided in my choice and have come to believe that perhaps Casper is not being completely honest with me and that maybe he is not in as bad a position as he would have others believe. I don’t really know but since he has made little attempt to improve his own position, I don’t feel it is my place to do the work for him. To those of you who showed support for his one and only post and who were waiting to welcome him with open and helpful arms, I offer my sincere apologies. I do not however, apologise for attempting to do something positive with steemit, which remains my ambition and one that has been given a boost having seen the success of the @familyprotection initiative started by @markwhittam.
I remain in contact with Casper and will try to help him in any way I can but as far as steemit goes, I don’t think he will be making an appearance any time soon, so I thought it only right to update anyone who is interested.

To Casper, I have to say, you did your best. Sometimes even the best things do not work out as thought.
But anyways it was very nice to try to help him with your idea! I You'll sure get an extra portion of good karma :)
Hey @w0olf! Good to hear from you mate. Yeah, I've been having a little break from steemit while I was moving house but I hope to be on more regularly from now on and thanks for the kind words mate. He still has his account if he chooses to join us in his own time. Look forward to checking out your page again soon mate to see what you have been up to yourself! Hey Tony, good to hear from your again (sorry it's not for the best circumstances). You did a good thing trying to help and put in more effort than most would have, for that you deserve much credit and respect. Hopefully Casper will find his way.
Cheers Chris. I'm sorry it didn't work out myself and like I say, I'm still in touch with Casper and happy to help him in any way I can if he needs it but you can lead a horse to water so the saying goes and it seems to be applicable in this instance unfortunately. Hope everything is good with you and Daniel. Haven't been on for a while but hope to catch up with everyone again in the next week or so and find out what I've been missing! :)
You did your best @tonyr, but I think also some people are intimidated from all the blockchain social network and cryptocurrencies concept.
I too was trying to convince a friend to start an account and he said "it's too complicated".
I also gave 10 SBD to a friend to get him to believe...not a chance..well at least he posted a couple of times...lol...what can you do...
I don't get discouraged by these situation on the contrary it gives me more drive to help...you just gotta change the way maybe or approach...
