Why You Want to Quit the Habit - Think About It Before You Act

in #life3 years ago

Have you ever considered why you want to quit the smoking habit? If the answer is no, then perhaps you should take a few minutes to read this article. Specifically, I'm going to discuss what we as smokers who have failed at quitting the habit think went wrong. I'm going to show you how you can break free from your old habits and develop a new, healthy lifestyle that will help you be happy for the rest of your life. Just keep reading to learn more.

When most people think about why they're unable to kick the habit, their thoughts often return to a negative experience they had while smoking. Perhaps they encountered a difficult challenge or an unpleasant incident while smoking. If you have experienced any of these, now's the time to think about what you could have done differently. Try not to dwell on the situation any longer than necessary.

Now on the other hand, if the answer is yes, now's the time to think about what you would have changed if you had succeeded. For example, are you someone who has trouble with temptation? Perhaps you find yourself picking up cigarette after cigarette. If so, now's the time to start thinking about how to avoid picking up a cigarette. Or, maybe you've been around people who always seem to smoke in public.

In either case, now's the time to evaluate the actual habit you have. Are you someone who finds it very difficult to put down your cigarettes on a small piece of paper? If so, now's the time to change your habits and get serious about breaking the smoking habit. Otherwise, you'll be continuing to have unhealthy habits.

The next question is whether or not you're ready to actually do something about your habit. This is the most difficult part for many people. However, as long as you're willing and you take the time to evaluate your own thoughts and ideas, you're well on your way. There is no such thing as a "wants to stop smoking" vs. a "is it possible" kind of question.

If you honestly assess both of these aspects, then you will probably find that the answers are similar. The only difference is the time frame that you will need to make the commitment. Many people who try to quit are overwhelmed by the fact that they need to make a decision. They usually feel that once they have made the decision to quit, there is nothing left to do but to wait.

However, this is not the case. As you progress through the process of quitting, you will learn to value and appreciate each little victory. This is because you will start to see just how much enjoyment is involved in staying smoke-free. In addition, if you make a decision to go ahead and smoke, you will quickly find that the time just flies by quickly!

So, what are your reasons for wanting to quit? Once you have answered those questions, then take a few minutes to think about why you want to quit the habit. Make sure that you keep your resolve strong. Just remember that you really can do it if you set your mind to it.

Perhaps you want to stay healthy or you don't want ill effects from being around tobacco smoke. Maybe you simply don't want to be around smokers. There are lots of other reasons that people choose to quit, and they are all valid. You must find a reason that truly appeals to you.

When you start thinking about why you want to quit, think about what you will gain in return. Will you live a longer life? How will you feel to know that you are helping the world stay a better place? Are you able to get a job after quitting? These are all good questions to ask yourself as you begin to quit.

If you find that the reasons that you have thought up aren't all that good, take a few minutes to consider why you want to quit the habit. Chances are that you will come up with a few good answers. Now you can begin your journey.
