Multiple Bomb threats in Germany
Multiple town halls and other public facilities in Germany have been evacuated following bomb threats sent by email.
Among the towns affected are Augsburg, Kaiserslautern, Chemnitz, Göttingen, Neunkirchen and Rendsburg.
According to investigators in several towns, threats were sent directly to email addresses at the various town halls.
Further information about the content and sender of the emails are not currently available.
There have been large-scale police operations in several of the towns, with the affected areas sealed off. Some of those have included the use of explosives detection dogs. Searches in and around the town halls have so far revealed no devices.
In certain cities, there has been disruption to public transport services. In others, employees have been sent home.
In Chemnitz, the weekly market has been closed down, in Pinneberg the railway station was closed and in Flensburg the town hall and county court was closed.
