Why restless, why cast down, my soul?
Though I hold the keys to hidden knowledge
Uncomprehended and unbought above all thought.
From utmost East to utmost West, friends and foe
Protecting them wherever they go
Herb and plant that winter long,
Now bestirring, green and strong
I can count the jolly voices,
Singing sweetly day by day
Th’ unwearied sun from day to day
Shows the wonders in display
Above thee watching those we adore
Shall keep doing this, yea, forevermore
Why restless, why cast down, my soul?
Then, the veil uplifting
When at last discovered, some will sell their all
To seek treasure or matchless pearl
Wise men n their wisdom
Stirred by deep devotion
Ever journeying onward, hasting from afar
Pressing on to his humble home
Guide them in their way
All who’ve gone so far away
Still the hungry cry for bread
Still in grieve we mourn the iced
Seeking the lost
Showing the path to forevermore
They would have learned the right path
And choose it for their own
Earthly longings bid retire
Banish scare and silence fear
Thy saving help to those oppressed
Debriefing, cleaning the dung hill of depression.
