Relaxing Sunset on the River Nile - Feluccas at Maadi

One of the great pleasures of living and working in Egypt is the access to the River Nile. Evening sailing on the river at Maadi (and other places in Cairo and other cities) is a source of relaxation in a hectic world.

From here, it used to be possible to see the Great Pyramid, though obscured by haze in this photo. More recently, construction on the East bank has meant the Pyramids are lost behind tall buildings.

This captures the frequent golden sunsets. On other occasions night trips have allowed me to see lunar eclipses and blood-red moons. Photos for another time.
