The Present Gift
It’s not out there,
in the unwritten future.
It’s not back there,
in the settled past.
It is in,
the here and now,
that you must live,
and hold fast.
The gift of time,
in this space,
is the present,
of God’s grace.
Lessons in life,
we learn how,
by our living,
in the now.
I was reading the other day an idea that the word 'happiness' has its root in the word 'happening'. So happiness stems from being present in the moment experiencing what is happening. In the book I was reading it was expressing how important that is for the male psyche, in particular, to be where the 'happening' is taking place.
