Lyrics Review: Fragrance To Fire - Dunsin Oyekan

in HeartChurch4 years ago

This is a very powerful song, expressing the potency of worship, first as a sweet smelling offering to God, and secondly as a weapon of war. Worship is the act of giving thanks and adoration to God in all reverence. David describes worship as a sacrifice.

Let my prayer be set before You as incense, the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice. -Psalms 141:2

It is often said that worship moves the hands of God to action. This means worship goes beyond just adoration, but is very potent as a weapon of war. The Bibles states that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces, which have powers greater than mortal man can handle. It is only divine forces that can overcome them. This is why worship to God will prompt Him to fight our battles, like He did for Paul and Silas in Acts 16.

And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed. - Acts 16:25-26

The response to the worship of these saints was a great earthquake, as worship provoked God to miraculously break their chains and deliver them totally. This is your heritage as a child of God, and as a worshiper. Your worship is a fragrance to God, while He responds with fire!

[Verse]

{The Fragrance of my Worship
Rose up to the Father
Noises, Thundering’s, Earthquakes
Were the Response to my Worship
The Fragrance of my Worship
Rose up to the Father
Noises, Thundering’s, Lightnings
Were the Response to my Worship} [x2]

[Chorus]

First it was Fragrance
Then it Turned to Fire
My Worship is my Weapon
This is how I Win my Battle
First it was Fragrance
Then it Turned to Fire
My Worship is my Weapon
This is how I Win my Battle

[Repeat Verse]

{The Fragrance of my Worship
Rose up to the Father
