Plastic bottles for making Jersey

in World Of Football ⚽3 years ago (edited)

A plastic bottle is a bottle constructed from high-density or low density plastic. Plastic bottles are typically used to store liquids such as water, soft drinks, motor oil, cooking oil, medicine, shampoo, milk, ink and among things that people see to be fit for. The size ranges from very small bottles to large carboys.

A Jersey is an often loose-fitting shirt that is worn by a member of a sports team as part of a team uniform and that typically has the athlete's name and number on the back.

Since football is a game that is enjoyed by many people the idea is to make good use of what the people enjoy by solving a problem while giving the people entertainment, this is what we call killing two birds with one stone.

So as a way to reduce the waste and make good use of it in a productive way, nike has decided to make jerseys since 2012.

For both Nike’s Fast Fit Vaporknit kits (worn by Brasil, Croatia, England, Nigeria, Liverpool Poland and Portugal) and Nike’s Match jerseys (worn by Australia, Saudi Arabia and South Korea), the process involves melting down 12 or 18 recycled plastic drinking bottles, respectively, to produce a fine yarn.

The bottles are cleaned, shredded into flakes then converted into pellets. From there, the pellets are melted and extruded into the high-quality yarn used to create the kits, delivering peak performance with a lower impact on the environment.

That is a very positive environmental impact nike has on the society with this initiative. Hopefully, many other major companies will follow suite.

Yes, we hope and pray for that too
