Learn Lightroom #1: Retro/Vintage Film Look Effect

Hello DLivers,

In this video tutorial you'll gonna learn how to make your photo a Retro or Vintage Film Look Effect using the Adobe Lighthroom any version. Adobe Lightroom is one of the best photo editor aside the Photoshop using this software you can enhance the quality of your photos from good to best and from ordinary to amazing result. For me as a photographer you need to learn how to enhance your photos using any kind of photo editor and Lightroom is one of the best and in this video tutorial you can learn that.

Making video tutorial or tutorial is one of my thing I really want to share my skills to others and this is really fun. Retro or Vintage look is look like a photo in 80's or 90's this effect is really amazing aside the video I am also provided a screenshot of my tutorial. I hope this tutorial helped you!



Step By Step How To Make A Retro Effect

  • IMPORT: First is open your Adobe Lightroom software to import your files or photos click the Import.

  • CHOOSE PHOTO: To choose your photo go to the Source, find your photo to your photo gallery once you locate your photo gallery click the Uncheck All. Click the photo you want to edit, click the Check Box and click Import.

  • DEVELOP: Now to start editing or develop your photo click the Develop. After you click the develop you can see all of these develop presets:

Develop Presets:

  • Basics

  • Tone Curve

  • HSL / Color / B&W

  • Split Toning

  • Details

  • Lens Correction

  • Effects

  • Camera Collaboration

  • LENS CORRECTION: If you want to correct the lenses of your image go to Lens Correction In the Basic you can check the Enable Profile Corrections and Remove Chromatic Aberration.

  • BASIC: In this basic preset you can change the value of all basic but in this tutorial under the Tone I only change the value of Shadow to (+60) and under the Presence I change the value of Vibrance to (-7) and Saturation same goes to value of Vibrance.

  • TONE CURVE: In Tune Curve we can change the Shadow Tone, Mid Tone and Light Tone. First is I want to edit the RGB Tone, second is the Blue Tone and third is the Red Tone.

  • SPLIT TONING: In Split Toning under the Highlights we can change the value of Saturation to (10) and the Hue to (253). Next is under the Shadows we can also change the value of Saturation to (11) and the Hue to (253).

  • EFFECTS: If you want to add an effects to your photo just go to Effects but this is optional only. Under the Grain add the amount to (60) and under the Post-Crop Vignetting you can add the amount to (-33).

  • BEFORE & AFTER: If you want to preview the before and after of your photo just hit the letter "Y" on your keyboard and you can see the different of the before and after.

  • EXPORT/SAVE: If you are satisfy and if you want to Export or Save the final result just go back to the Library and click the Export. After clicking the Export the export pop-up menu settings is open now you can select the destination folder of your photo in custom settings you can rename of your photo and to export your photo just click the Export.
