Traveling through Ireland

Some years ago I visited a friend in Ireland. He lives on the west coast and we took a couple of days to drive around the area there. It was early spring and quite cold, and of course it was raining quite a bit as well. But still the nature is particularly beautiful. Here are some of the pictures I want to share with you.

In case you ever go to Ireland be sure to check out some of the small fishing towns. Not only are they picturesque but you will also meet very interesting people. Be sure to check out the local bar as well to get a glimpse of the lives of the locals there.

The harsh but beautiful coastline. It was impossible to drive by this place without taking a picture. Of course what you can't see and feel is the strong wind which made this shot all the more difficult.

If you decide to drive a little bit inland you can also get rewarded with some soft and mellow landscapes. There is that special mystery and wonder in the air that is of course impossible to capture on camera. But if you open your senses a bit it is easy to feel the ancientness of this country.

If you aren't afraid of a bit of rain and have a good jacket and some good boots, I would strongly recommend that you give this beautiful country a visit and explore not just the pleasant people, but also the vast and stunning country.
