RE: Manchester United a Disgrace Against Rochdale

in #sportstalk7 years ago

United fans struggle with the desire to win now, while doing it the "United" way. The realities of world football are vastly different than they were 30 years ago. If you want to build through the academy, have staff that know United, to play a brand of football that is acceptable to the fan-base, you will have to go through growing pains.

This dichotomy of winning now and doing it the United way is leaving the club directionless. You can't have youth, although talented but also mistake prone, come through if you are going to spend millions of pounds of a mercenary, i.e. Alexis Sanchez.

United in recent years have looked like a club at war with itself. The club needs to get rid of Woodward, and bring in someone who understands what the club wants long term. The fan base need to be patient and allow the club to have growing pains. The club has enough money to handle a few years in the Europa league places while they get things sorted. The problem though is everyone wants everything to be like when Ferguson was in charge. He's been retired for years now. The club needs to move forward.
