Experiment in Collaboration: ADD SOMETHING TO THIS SONG AND EARN SBD! -- Emergence [Derivative 7]

in #dsound7 years ago

*I've always been intrigued by the idea of building a song piece by piece by throwing it back and forth between random participants on the internet and seeing what it evolves into. The same starting point could result in multiple divergent paths and totally disparate finished songs if different people got involved at different points along the chain. *

In this derivative I just added a little more subtle high hat towards the end. I'm leaving it wide open for someone to come in and throw down some soloing guitar or the like…

I've decided to offer some more incentive for people to get involved. So I will reward you with all of the SBD I wind up redeeming for this post if you add something to this song (and follow the rules below). If more than one person winds up adding to this recording or a derivative of it before I redeem for this post in 7 days, I suppose I will have to turn it into some sort of contest. In such case, I'll choose one participant at my discretion to receive the reward.

If you want to participate:

  • Download this song and add anything you want to it. Get creative and don't be afraid to add something unusual. Don't worry so much about audio quality; it's content that counts, I always say.
  • Your addition need not be anything extensive. In fact it might be best if it's relatively minimal, thereby leaving headroom for more stems to grow. A mix can get crowded quick, but a song can always be extended in length.
  • Post your new recording and make sure to link to it in the comments of this version so I (and others) can find it.
  • Use "Experiment in Collaboration: ADD SOMETHING TO THIS SONG AND EARN SBD!" in the title to attract people to participate and copy these steps into your description.
  • I'll be sure to upvote you, so please do the same!
