"Ask Him, however, with faith, in no doubt, because what doubts is similar to the wave of the sea, driven and stirred by the wind, do not suppose that man will get something from the Lord, the double-minded man is inconstant in all his ways. "(James 1,6-8)

It is evident that those who are not in this work, are the "inconstant in all their ways" referred to in the text, because they give with it a flagrant proof of lack of faith in God.
Faith is active and leads to our transformation and worship and service to God.
The graces of God will be increased in us as we diligently do this. And the Spirit itself will instill in us a growing increase in our full confidence in the promises of God, and in the knowledge of the person and will of Jesus Christ.
