Shit happens :/

Few days ago me and few friends decided to go watch a movie, and because i dont live at the same place as them a friend came to pick me up, it was around 18 o'clock and the night has already fallen, and with a slow tempo we went back to his place, the movie was at 8, usually it takes around 15-20 minutes but this time it took almost 3 hours! The road to there goes all the time up and down. We were going cca 90 km/h uphill, and at the point we reached the top of the hill suddenly a big van appeared 10 meters from the top of the hill downhill parked on the middle of the road. My heart stopped! The firend was driving. He hited the brakes so hard and turned the wheel we started to sliding on the road left and right like in the movies. After few times turning around on the road it was clear. We are going to hit the van! We hitted the van with our front end of the car in his side, around his doors. It all togather lasted for 6-7 seconds but i had the feeling it lasted for 5 minutes.

After we hitted him we flew backwards 10 more meters.I looked my friend, he looked at me, at that point we knew we were both fine, at the same time we looked at the van and saw a man coming out of it. I already stared to opening the door to ask him is he alright when he started to scream at us. He called the police and we waited for them. When they came they took the statements from them both. The man claimed to the police that he was driving 50-60 km/h and we flew into him with rocket speed. The police estimated the road condicon and the braking traces and they hypothesized what did happend. They belived our story but there was no way to prove the man was standing and not driving and the road limit was 80 km/h so they only wrote my friend a speeding ticket witch was 100 euro. The insurance covered his costs and he driverd away.

So in my friends situation, although he was morally right, he was legally guilty, YES, this may happen sometimes too!
