Hi Steemit community! The question marks are a stand-in for a photograph. I’m not tech-savvy at all, and have just figured out how to create and upload my avatar. It’s about all the instructions I can stand to read and follow for today, so please bear with me as I learn to navigate this platform over the next few weeks. 

It is quite out of character for me to join a social network. I value privacy and object to my personal details being logged, tracked, tagged, and sold to corporations that I despise. So no Facebook for me. As I am a sucker for information and knowledge, I do a fair amount of research on YouTube, but it is a corporate whore too (nothing against prostitutes, sometimes it’s the only way to make a living, and they’ll always be a thousand times more honorable than the Googles of this world). I was attracted to Steemit as an alternative, especially as some of my faves such as  https://steemit.com/@corbettreport , https://steemit.com/@davidpakman and https://steemit.com/@pressfortruth  have migrated here (I hope the links are working, I haven’t researched how to do it properly yet - part of the learning curve-, please do check them out!) and I hope to find Steemit a place where free speech flourishes.

Some of my passions: truth, freedom, art, travel, history, politics, classical music, psychology.
