RE: To buy or not to buy?? To vest or not to vest?? Let's talk.

in #steem6 years ago (edited)

I have another question. It may sound silly, but it is what it is. Let's say Steem and SBD spike at some point (like they did last year). Let's say that Steem touches $20 and SBD $25 for a week maximum and then goes back to "normality" (with some "healthy growth") and hypothetically speaking it stabilizes at around $2 for another whole year or two. Let's say someone like you - who has EVERYTHING invested in SP - how exactly is he going to benefit from this spike/pump/you name it/ the way things work in this platform? Or you are willing to be patient and wait for another X weeks/months/years (we can only guess) until Steem "healthily grows" up to 100-200$ (right)? I know my question may sound as silly to some but I think it's quite legit!

Steemit is an opportunity and we should treat it like that, don't you think?

Totally get your point. As long as Steem and SBD are listed on exchanges there will be price swings and their prices will be corelated with the market. Thus if one wants to make the most out of such opportunities and to profit of course will have to know when to sell that Steem. For people that are only investing in SP and have a long term vision the price of Steem over over one month or a year really doesn't matter that much. Every one of us should have decidee where he sits on this Steem train.

Your question isn't silly at all.

And that's how I imagine it is going to happen. Now I don't really know if the price will touch 20$ (I hope it does) The thing is that if someone has everything vested with the current system he just doesn't have the time to power down and be benefited from that spike. That's why efforts are being made every day so that Steemit Inc. reduces the 13 week window to 5 weeks (some even suggest 1 week for a full power down) and I agree 100%. It would attract way more people to invest, knowing that their money are available almost immediately.

Speaking for myself, what you see there as SP is not all the steem I hold. I have a decent amount on exchanges and I keep trading it. And imo that's what everyone should do.

I think I should edit the title to: To vest or not to vest :P
