Manila's First Steemit Billboard

in #steemit10 years ago (edited)

Hi guys, I’m TJ Lopez 30 years old, from Manila. I’m a crypto trader, a newbie photographer and a pistol shooter. I have been using the first decentralized, immutable (un-censorable) social media website ever created (Steemit.com) for more than a month now. Since I joined, I’ve been championing the platform along with my friends and literary every person i meet through word of mouth. I’ve been a walking advertiser of the new social media revolution and now i think it’s time to step up my efforts.

The Idea

Inspired by the successful Ad campaign known as @steemdrive, I’m looking forward to launch The First Steemit Billboard in the Philipines, a home to more than 101 Million Filipinos. I’m planning to replicate Ricardo Goncalves’s (also known as @thecryptodrive, @bravenewcoin and @expanse) contributions to the community by putting up Steemit ads on LED Display board in different parts of Metro Manila.

Why in Manila?

Metro Manila is the seat of government and the most populous region of the country accounting to 13% of the whole population. Being the main gateway to the Philippines, Manila considers tourism as its vital industry. Trade and tourism accounts to 31% share of the Region’s output. In 2012, it welcomed around 970,000 overnight visitors making it the top overnight destination of the country. In the year 2012, it registered around 3,139,000 tourist arrival.

Manila is among one of the “Best Shopping Destinations in Asia". It houses some of the largest shopping malls in the world with SM Megamall (3rd largest in the world), (SM city North EDSA (4th largest in the world) ans SM Mall of Asia ( 9th largest in the world).

Its most popular tourist attraction is gambling being known gaming destination in Asia apart from Macau and Singapore. It houses 20 Casinos with integrated luxurious hotels and resorts. Among the popular destinations are City of Dreams Manila, Solaire resort and New Port City.

Minimum wage earners (about 587000 individuals) in Manila receives PHP481.00 (USD $10.77) salary. This is very meager and below subsistence, and with opportunity we will be showing them, steemit might be able to change their life. A Pinoy who would earn 10 USD a post would become a millionaire in no time. A dollar is worth 46 pesos here.

According to Rappler, we have one of the highest digital populations in the world and internet audience's growth rate shows no signs of slowing down either.

The mobile Internet penetration rate is growing at a rate of 1.5x (or 30 million users) every year

internet growth

There about 119Million mobile phone subscriptions in the country, that's about 117% penetration rate. Average user spends 3.2Hours online in mobile and 5.2hours in desktop or tablets

Out of the total population 47% are into social media. We have around 47 million active facebook accounts in the country and we are considered as the fastest growing app market in Southeast Asia

I’m looking at two options where we could put up our steemit ads.

McKinley LED Billboard (Option 1)

The LED Display board (1 and 2) are located at Lawton Avenue corner Upper McKinley Road in Taguig City. Videos of any format may be played on the screen that is 20ft tall and 13ft wide. Operating hours are from 6:00AM to 10:00PM. It's the entry point coming from the Airport to Mckinley Hills (Megaworld’s largest township development in Metro Manila) and Fort Bonifacio Global City

About 120,911 vehicles (Traffic count as of 2011) coming from Pasay Airport going to Fort Bonifacio Global City pass the area daily giving advertisers good exposure for their brand, products, services, and promotions.

A video loop cycles every 4minutes and will cost us 20 pesos per spot.
With a total of 7,200 spots per month, we are looking at a monthly rate of
PHP 108, 000.00 or 2,347 USD per LED. The two LEDs will cost us PHP 216,00.00 or 4,695 US Dollars a month.

EDSA LED Showcase (Option 2)

EDSA LED Showcase (1,2,3) are along EDSA cor Gen. Lim Ave Quezon City, the primary artery in Metro Manila that stretches to 54 Km. Videos of any format may be played on the screen that is 30ft tall and 20ft wide. Operating hours are from 6:00AM to 10:00PM. Traffic count as of year 2011 is 206346 vehicles Ortigas going to Cubao.
A video Loop will cycle every 4minutes and will cost us 33 Pesos per spot. With a total of
7,200 spots per month, we are looking at a monthly price of PHP 237, 600.00 or 5, 165 USD per LED board, that’s about PHP 712,800.00 or 15,495 Dollars for 3 LED boards.

United Neon will be our proponent and you may contact them at (02) 889-1111 to 16.

The proceeds of post will be used to purchase billboard space.

I’m looking forward for your support on this project.
