Peace and War

in #steemiteducation7 years ago

The ride was smooth with the scorching sun burning my skin. I was in my white African wear on a Longda motor bike I bought some few months ago. I was riding smoothly and on an average speed of 40km/h. Suddenly there came a procession of a crowd. They were all making a happy sound as they filled half of the tarred road. I had to move to the outermost layer to make way for a passing bus to come. I slowed down and was enthusiastic about what was happening. As I moved slowly passed the crowd, I was startled by a loud sound.

I almost lost control as I rode on the bike. I was as if thunder just fired. I checked my cloth to see whether I had not sustained any injury as I feel my heart ache and miss a beat. It was a gun that was fired. The sound of the gunfire left me reminiscing about the war torn zones in Africa.

If the sound of just one gunshot could make me this unstable, what will a crossfire battle between two arguing faction be. I still ponder about the feeling, I felt as though I was just an ant in the mist of lions roaring. Today is a Sunday and let me end it here for the time being.

Remember to always appreciate the little peace you have amongst your surroundings. The sound of war isn't something nice to look upon. Have a wonderful day. Happy Sunday
