Happy Birthday Dad

The fact that you are alive today itself calls for a celebration. Every moment spent alive gets you closer to your birthday and it all calls for celebration. But treating everyday special destroys the experience that comes along with celebration. That is why there are specific days we use to celebrate people. I have an awesome daddy and 63 years ago on this day, he was born into this world.

Today marks a day worth celebrating. Born into a poor farming home, he started schooling with all the challenges associated with it. He had to goto school during the weekdays and return to the farm during the weekend in order to get money for food during school days. He was keen to do well in school and worked very hard to complete his elementary school. The standard of living never changed after elementary school.

He had to self sponsor himself into Sixth Form. He would goto work during the day and do labour work during the afternoon. He ate gari with sugar when lucky for over a year as the only diet and later gained admission to a tertiary education. Indeed he had worked his way into what he has become today. He completed his tertiary education and was employed as an assistant to an accountant. That was when the story started to become nicer. I wasnt born yet though. My elder siblings came into the picture soon after.

I was magically born into quite a better home than my dad because he made it so. All i can say is thank you dad for being this awesome. We appreciate all the struggles you have been going through for us and we will definitely make you proud in no time. Have a blissful birthday Mr. W. K. Tuah
