crochet skill level up

lets start at the beginning, shall we

I had done a few chains and i hat that was too small for an infant.... you should have seen my disappointment when it didn't fit my son's head. Then onto this shoe/slipper. Like the color? Mom gave me some yarn to work with and I needed contrast to be able to see my stitches. I only had enough yarn for one! haha

By this point, I had watched a few more youtube tutorials and was fairly good at making hats for kids and adults. This was my attempt at an Indian headdress. My nephew is very into his heritage and I wound up adding some dollar store feathers to it, although i didnt fasten them very well and a few fell out while he wore it.

This is a pair of booties for a friends baby. I was also making winter hats and a few more similar: ninja turtles and braided princesses.

At this point I really started branching off and making up my own pattern. This is a beach cover-up i made. Once i had finished, I realized it was far too heavy for wearing to the river.... lessons learned the hard way. I still like the way it looks and I feel proud of it being my first creation with no set pattern or guide.

Oh my! Look at all this!! Let's just say it was a long winter!!

And now we have this, my latest creation for the other creation i worked 8.25 months on!! It's a girl!!
