Contest For The Amazing Fictioneers

What is she up to this time?

Four days ago, a contest was opened by @rhondak. This contest, however, is unlike any other contest Steem has seen. You see, the contestants will not be publishing their entries on Steemit to be judged. They will be judged before ever making it onto the platform. This contest is not about published work, but about polishing and perfecting your work before you share it with the world.

This polishing and editing will happen in the Fiction workshop of The Writer’s Block’s Discord server. For more details, point your pointy thingie right here and click.

This contest, however, means a lot of hard work for the amazing fictioneers who volunteer their time and energy to review the submissions we’ll receive.

We lovingly do the work we do, and the appreciation of the writers who willingly put themselves at the receiving end of our editing whips is a wonderful gift to receive. And don’t worry, we always flog gently. ;-)

Sorry. I’m getting distracted here. More work for our volunteers. Yes. That’s what I wanted to discuss.

Starting tonight, I will open a contest. A counterpart for the one hosted by @thewritersblock. That contest focuses on writers who are willing to work on and improve their drafts. My contest will focus on the editors and critiquers who help them do that.

How?

For two weeks, all writers who submit a story in the Fiction Workshop of The Writer’s Block will be asked to score the people who offered comments on their drafts, based on how helpful the writer found those comments. These scores will be submitted to me via DM on Discord and I will keep track of them.

Prizes

I’ll offer a prize pool of 50 Steem.

The Top Editor as elected by the writers will receive 10 Steem. The rest of the prize pool will be divided equally among at least 5 of the other editors, but they will not be ranked.

Our own mods will also be able to each nominate one editor, after which they can vote for them. The Top Editor as elected by our team of mods will receive a prize of 10 Steem.

Thanks to @GMuxx’s generosity, I can add a further 5 SBD to both Top Editors.
This is just my way of saying thank you to the team that helps make The Writer’s Block into the amazing place that it is. @bex-dk has promised a further 15 Steem to be awarded to the Mod's Top Editor.
