Fake accounts can be a challenge with social media sites. Sometimes they are a problem other times not, depending upon the service. They can provide needed anonymity for some or be cause for fraud to others. There is no doubt those who have a strong desire can fool the system, those who are gullible, and even the cautious. But Steemit may be largely immune from the real detrimental effects of these acts, based upon its design and the use of Steem Power.
