Kanye Can Relax Now. Trap Is The Solution
That's that "Don't touch anything in the store"
And there's rich nigga racism
That's that "Come here, please buy more"
What you want a Bentley, fur coat and diamond chain?
All you blacks want all the same things
Used to only be niggas now everybody plays me
Spending everything on Alexander Wang
New Slaves”
Kanye was crying out after he noticed a very important flaw in the US system. But in an era of social media stupidity and the deep level of brainwash by the system, the masses and group of people he was trying to fight for. MC Hammer, DMX only to mention a few were black men who blew ‘big money’ or at least big in the black man’s view of money. You can’t really blame them, the entire black race has been enslaved since forever. These naïve black people lost all they had because of their lack of exposure and because they were targeted. Yes, targeted. It might not just be just a white or black thingy but mental or should I say psychological bullying was involved.
The homie Kanye sees this mind battle and acted according to what he knows how to do, make really good and also deep music. Upon the release of his album ‘yeezus', it got mixed reactions from the world. Some of us loved it, a lot of people didn’t. And because of they didn’t like it they saw it as an opportunity to slate and ridicule him. He isn’t perfect either but if only people had the true love they profess they would see what he sees and guide him on how to tackle it.
Want me to stay at ease
Fuck you and your corporation
Y'all niggas can't control me
I know that we the new slaves"
Still from the track ‘new slaves’ and he was calling out these people enslaving the people with inferior exposure and education. If you get the point then you can see he isn’t such a bad person after all. All he wants is to reach out to young black boys so that they can prepare for the harsh reality of the Hollywood industry as it were. A very logical reason people give for slating him is his deep love for dark music and the way he expresses himself with puns like ‘sold my soul to the devil’ and so on. But if you take a good look at the ‘yeezus’ message, you will realize he talking about how these people enslaving other people are ‘crucifying’ him. He is only human and he has flaws, I mean we all do. A lot of people are just slamming him because they don’t understand him. And they don’t understand him because the people he is battling have picked his flaws and made them the topic of discussion as opposed to the message he was trying to express.
Trap is a lifestyle. Everyone in this lifestyle grinds harder for themselves and are also ready to offer a helping hand to fellow grinders. Trap artistes in the United States have done really well on the US billboard without deals with the ‘big’ record labels. Here in Nigeria, we have our own street life too, not entirely the same but I noticed some similarities in both cases. Labels are ripping off artistes on this end too, Olamide is a good example of someone with the trap philosophy. His YBNL label picks artistes, trains them, use them and let them go when they are ready to be on their own.
A very important addition I would like to make is that exploitation is done to ignorant black folks by their fellow black brothers also, it is not just a race thing.
