There is no wrong choice here

2017 is a big year if you love trucks, this year we get two of the most capable 4x4s you can buy and they have both been redone. The first is the Dodge Power Wagon, its a proper heavy duty truck, it has a massive 6.4 liter Hemi making 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque, power goes to all four wheels when you lock the front a rear differentials, you can also disconnect the front sway bar for some major articulation, and if you do manage to get stuck the 12,000lb warn winch will pull you free, but with 33" Goodyear wranglers getting stuck may prove difficult. The exterior gets a minor change with the new grille carried over from the rebel and Power Wagon decals straight from the 1980's. The interior is all new too, you can get leather seats, but personally I love the cloth seats with the Goodyear wrangler tread pattern, it just looks manly.

This is one badass truck

The Power Wagon is one of the most iconic trucks ever, and this truck is definitely worthy of the name. There is one little thing tho, and that's the 2016 Power Wagon, sure it won't look as nice, and the interior may be a bit dated, but it will likely be thousands of dollars cheaper, for essentially the same truck.

But Ford isn't letting Dodge have all the fun

Ford is bringing back the Raptor for 2017, and its been redone from the ground up. The main differences is the 6.2 liter has been replaced by the 3.5 ecoboost V6, but don't let the number of cylinders fool you it is reportedly going to make 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque, which is impressive, it will also share the aluminum body with the F-150, so this Raptor is 500 lbs lighter than the previous, the 2017 Raptor will also have a 10 speed automatic transmission. The fox shocks get upgraded to, and to top it all off you get you get six driving modes, three are dedicated for off-roading, rock mode for rock crawling, mud and sand for when you're in the hills, or dunes, and a Baja mode, which will likely be insane. The previous Raptor was an amazing truck, but we have yet to see how this new model will do, but its unlikely Ford would drop the ball on this. Its lighter, has more power and gears, so it should be fun.

Both of these trucks are amazing

It all depends on what you want, the Power Wagon is a big heavy duty truck with lock diffs, and the raptor is more of a light weight, with all sorts of electronic assists. Bet way to look at it is one is a bruising heavyweight and the other is a light agile welterweight, but either way you can't go wrong with either of these trucks.
