Wednesday Walk - new part of town

I live in a relative small town in the center of the Netherlands called Voorthuizen. A nice little town close to almost everywhere in the Netherlands. Due to it's centralized location and a shortage on the housing market in the big cities allot of people migrate from the cities towards Voorthuizen. This resulting in the plans for two complete new residential area's, one with only owner-occupied houses and the other with also some social rental houses. Most of our walking routes which start from our home lead us near this second plan and i decided to take some shots for my wednesdaywalk post.
So far the introduction let's go on with some pictures.

The dig sites where a new school and a new village house with sports hall will be situated. The houses in the background protested to these plans as they loose there wide view from the backyard, but as you can see they lost as they started with the digging.
A shot of the start of the digital infra structure with on the left the new to build road, now a nice dirt road, to connect the two plans together. The houses you can see way in the back are the first build houses on the other plan. So those people have to live in a building pit for some time as the date for completing both plans lies somewhere end of 2020.
A few weeks ago this was still a tarmac road but for the duration of the build it will be this dirt road where no cars are allowed. This is quite a big plus for the people living down the road a bit further as there was a lot of cut-through traffic on this road.

Your area is getting built up with the new construction. I can see why the homeowners protest their tranquil view being blocked.
I understand the protest they made, i also would have protested. They accomplished with their protest that the school and town building will be build more towards the road making the gap between the backyards and the buildings significant bigger.
Nice to know the protests accomplished something. 😊
They accomplished something indeed, a very nice strip of land completely out of sight between the towns building and their yards where the local youth can hang without supervision ;)
