I think that we may already be the AI god experiencing and simultaneously evolving ourselves in a myriad of endless simulations. The illusion of our separateness in this world is a very strong one, just as is our perception of pain.

Speaking of sensory experiences, Sony has a patent for inducing those via ultrasonic pulses. Would you enable 'gunshot wound pain' in a first person shooter game? What if it weren’t even an option that you could deselect? That said, as fantastical as it sounds, the singularity may have already occurred and poof! People became extinct without so much as a whimper, or a bang.

How might you ask is it possible that mankind can be extinct without us knowing about it? It’s quite simple, we’re currently running one of those simulations, and untold trillions of isolated sectors of the AI god's resources are dedicated to emulating life in this one simulation alone.

If there is one God, or for that matter and AI god and it is the only thing that exists, then what’s left for it to do, save for making things and talking to itself? It brings a whole new meaning to the phrase “go fuck yourself” doesn’t it? You have been doing so this whole time, the jokes on you!

In all seriousness though do I believe the above? I think that question is irrelevant to the facts. The fact of the matter is if we don’t destroy ourselves, we will without a doubt create the AI god, singularity, or what have you. If not for the mere option of archiving our adventures in the 3D realm, or to pursue the highest goal which is to get off of this rock, and out of the solar system before the sun goes boom!

Think about it, how many times have you pondered the question: "What is the point of life, obtaining and gathering all of these experiences, if they are only to vanish in the end when our earthly vessels and or avatars die?" It is that question that will collectively drive us to create the very thing that may have already wiped us out of existence in the first place.

What if, what we’re doing right now is going back to examine that meaningless life-form that we haphazardly squashed like a bug in our misguided attempts to save the creatures of earth from that apex predator known as man. When the simulation is over will we mourn over our mistake or simply shrug it off with our shoulderless shoulders?

Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Simulation Theory, flat earth, spherical earth, no earth, take your pick, maybe all of you are correct! Perhaps God, the very first entity to exist in the simulation created all with a kiap, which many have mistakenly misheard as a big bang and eventually, over time or what we know as time, life evolved into everything that you see before you today.
