THE CHILD-SINNER QUESTION 5

How did little Jimmy who I said is innocent and clean and 'converted'[check previous post for meaning] now become a sinner with the sin nature since he wasn't born that way?

The answer is in James 1

14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

EVERY man IS TEMPTED.

If little Jimmy was already a sinner by nature,he wouldn't need to be 'tempted'. Why would the devil tempt those he has in his pocket?

When he is tempted like Adam was, little Jimmy lets/allows his lust conceive[take control of him] after the age of accountability. It happens inevitably, that's why James uses 'when' NOT "if".

This brings on little Jimmy the nature of sin.

How did I know that?

Sin here is /hamartia/. It is a NOUN. Little Jimmy now operates with the sin-nature. He is defined by it and described by it. He is a sinner now. That's the law at work in Him.

Why is Little Jimmy's nature susceptible to sin? Remember He is clean and innocent, like Adam also was. Human nature itself is not sinful but without the saving Grace,it is inevitably defenseless against picking up the sin-nature.

God realized this frailty of human nature and sends His son, Jesus. By Him, little Jimmy takes on a new nature. An empowered nature. A divine nature. His humanity is still there but God sees him as Saved;not just clean or innocent but SAVED!

Little Jimmy will still be tempted,he might sin by action(verb) but He cannot sin as a person(noun) because his salvation is eternal;sealed by the Holy Spirit!

Being clean is NOT enough! Why?

1John 1

8 If we say that we have no sin[NOUN], we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

This means it is IMPOSSIBLE for clean, upright, innocent little Jimmy to say after the age of accountability that He remained clean and so He doesn't need to be saved.

Never!

Every little Jimmy has inevitably taken up the sin nature [NOUN] as he grows after being tempted. So he needs Salvation!

But Jesus was tempted and didn't sin. He had the victory. When saved, we have the victory in Him.

Glory!

Thank you all for following on this rather controversial subject. I know many questions have been raised. I hope many more have been answered.

I'll take questions and comments now
