Central Bangkok from a drone. (video)

When there's no sun and the sky is grey and gloomy, I usually save my drone batteries for better opportunities. On this particular occasion I am glad I flew. As you can see from the video, city center traffic is extremely quiet. One of Bangkok's busiest malls, Central World can be seen with clear roads and empty pavements! This was filmed back in the summer, but was just a regular day.

Colour saturation was lifted a little in post editing with blues reduced- blue turns the sky 'blueish' instead of the grey it actually was. Increasing the blacks and shadows helps add some depth and brings out the buildings.

From up above, I could really get a feel for just how jam packed the city is. huge tower blocks and skyscrapers line every street with massive tollways and expressways cutting through the city. There are still green parks and trees in each city district.

As interesting as the building works were, I stayed well clear of the moving cranes and their cables.

The photo below shows Central World- numerous air conditioning vents/extractors on the roof are hidden away and masked by all the advertising below.
