Carnation called Dianthus caryophyllus originated in Greece. Carnations usually bloom around January every year. It is also known as the flower of January, "The flower of January" and was chosen as the flower of Mother's Day.
Red carnations are also selected as the iconic flower of Ohio. Slovenia also chose carnations as its national flower.
Meaning of Carnation:
One color carnations:
Carnations of a single color are often used to express consent, to accept someone's feelings for themselves.
