Mount Sinabung erupts, its ashes reach Aceh
Mount Sinabung in Karo Regency, North Sumatra yesterday erupted to a height of 5,000 meters more, the current impact of volcanic dust material can be felt up to Southeast Aceh Regency, Aceh.
On Monday night, in Kutacane it was seen that the majority of locals chose to be inside the house, while only a small percentage of the residents were in the local coffee shop.
"We are afraid of the volcanic dust from the eruption of Mount Sinabung We chose a break in the house," said a resident in the village of Pegapatalam, Babussalam, Sumur Raden (37).
Zulkarnain (32), the local coffee shop owner, said that if inhaled volcanic dust, it is very dangerous for health because it can cause respiratory problems and disorders of the lungs.
He also states, so if touching the skin on the body like on the hands or feet, can cause swelling.
"Tonight, unlike the usual people gathered to drink coffee in my shop, it is still there, but a little, this too, soon I want to close," he said again.
Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) local states, volcanic ash from the eruption of Mount Sinabung has spread to several areas in Aceh due to wind.
"Sinabung volcanic dust spread to several districts / cities in Aceh," said Head of Data and Information Section BMKG Blangbintang, Aceh, Zakaria.
He explained that the material brought from the eruption of the mountain is located in Tanah Karo Regency, North Sumatera Province has been heading to the middle, and south-west in the northernmost province in Sumatra.
The closest regions of Tanah Karo such as Southeast Aceh, Gayo Lues, Subulussalam, South Aceh, and several other areas are confirmed to be affected by volcanic ash.
At the time of the first eruption occurred at around 08:53 pm, Mount Sinabung also experienced some eruptions after the frequency of lower frequencies.
"Volcanic material and dust brought winds to a number of areas in Aceh, compared to North Sumatra, such as Babulrahmah Sub-district, Lawe Sigala-gala, and Lawe Bulan in Southeast Aceh," he said.
