The Screen Addict | The Gift (2000)

Rewatching A Simple Plan (1998) the other day, made me think of another less-celebrated Sam Raimi film worthy of a revisit – The Gift.

Released in the white-hot slipstream of The Sixth Sense (1999) – which generated a slew of supernatural copycats and wannabes – this captivating Thriller was actually co-written by Raimi’s ASP star Billy Bob Thornton.

What elevates The Gift above the other TSS inspired releases though, is its absolutely top-notch cast.

Standout amongst the stellar performances is Keanu Reeves. Anyone still claiming bad acting on Reeves’ part after seeing this film, is gonna have to present some pretty compelling arguments…
