The real deal with the fully-functional giggle switch to turn money into noise as fast as possible, or semi-auto only? My only AK experience was firing an absolutely terrible Chinese knockoff with a Clinton gun ban era thumbhole stock that was about as ergonomic as an unaltered piece of lumber and a barrel that was too shot out to be worth a thing.
BTW, there is an AK-74 variant that is easier to shoot. It is a smaller bullet with less recoil. I have had a few AK's. I had to switch when I got TMJ (joint issues) with my jaw. The recoil would shoot pain into my face with each cheek welded pull of the trigger. The Ak-74 gives you all of the functionality with more round capacity per magazine. The bullet for a 47 is a 7.62 x 39 or a 30 caliber round in a 39mm length. The 74 is a smaller 5.45 (around 22 caliber) in the same 39 mm. The thinking by the Russians was that they were outmatched since the Americans were able to hold at least 30% more ammunition full gear with a M-16 platform and ammunition. This is why Kalashnikov was commissioned to build the 74. @pholosopher
