Maybe they will take away your so called "rights to carry", but that does not mean you lost you right to carry. ;)
Gun control advocates want to limit liberty for a false sense of security. They don't realize that sacrificing liberty for security means they will have neither. When only the state has guns you are at the mercy of authoritarians that believe they own you.

I don't think you know how to distinguish among guns enough to discern what is an AR.

An AR-15 is a small-caliber carbine. Not a big high-powered rifle.
When you admit that "criminals" sometimes use guns, does that mean you're OK with "criminals" having guns with no controls?
And who decides who is one of these "criminals."
In the US racial caste system, that label is applied to felons and/or innocent people of color, in the War on Drug User/Addicts.
So, how do you feel about the under-caste of America having guns?
I want the "under-caste" to have guns to defend themselves. In America and everywhere else. More than that, I realize it is none of my business who has a gun as long as they aren't using it to attack the innocent.
When you ban guns, you do not prevent criminals from having them. You just ensure that the victims of criminals lose a useful means to respond to criminal behavior. Oh, and you are necessarily calling for criminal activity against peaceful people who do not obey your arbitrary dictate, because laws are opinions backed by men with guns.
