Hopefully the fall rains will bring more water to it. And if there are mountains that feed the river, in the spring the snows will keep water in it.

I think one of the most fascinating water phenomenons is the annual flooding of the Okavango Delta in Africa. I once watched a show about it on Discovery or Planet Earth or something. Most of the places will be a desert until the rains come and then it will spring to life! It is very interesting to see.
