The executive membership at Costco is $110, but they give you 2% back on all your purchases. If you don't get enough of a rebate to make up for the additional $55, then I believe they give you a check for the difference. The idea is to get you buying more things there, so they make up in volume what they lose on the rebate. If you can share it with someone, then you may even come out ahead.
