RE: The Spotlight - Monday Start Of The Week Edition

I don't know what I'll do with it. I'm actually a rather private person, so who knows?

No visits with ____. I already know my wife, so I'm content with her.

Horse got a new saddle for his birthday.

I have never even secretly wanted to get fuzzy dice for anything.

I don't know that I want another 15 minutes of fame.

I eat oatmeal! It's delicious. I like to eat mine with raisins, chia seeds, and dried ginger pieces. Oooh, and sometimes chopped pecans.

I never, ever would have guessed you were a private person. I just assumed your parents couldn't decide what to call you. :)

Well, okay, so scratch all of that, then. It's your 15 minutes, after all.

I've had the raisins and the chopped pecans, along with a healthy dose of brown sugar. I like blueberries in it, too. Never tired chia or ginger. I could see the ginger, not so much the chia. My wife puts that in her cereal she eats. In fact, it might be all chia. :)

I do the healthy dose of brown sugar too! None. Ha ha! I'm trying to cut down on my sugar intake, so no sugar in the oatmeal. The raisins have enough on their own. I do like blueberries in oatmeal though. Not with the raisins. Crystallized ginger has sugar on it, so you might like that. The chia seeds add a little crunchy to it, and they have a lot of fiber so there's another plus! Heh.

All chia? ..... Nah.

Well, I don't think the sweet is as important here as the flavor. Oatmeal, in and of itself, is notoriously bland, and thus the added ingredients. I like the taste of brown sugar, beyond the sweetness. Same with the other ingredients that get added in. If I thought it would improve the taste and actually be compatible with oatmeal, I'd toss in chunks of steak or potato chips.

The sugar content can be found virtually anywhere. I'm just trying to wake up my oatmeal a little. Make it work for me.

Ha ha ha, that's funny! Have you tried it yet? There's really no way to know until you do. I'm expecting your "Grandpa Cooks" post to be about Steak Oatmeal. :D

Once you stop eating as much sugar, and even just in specific dishes, your brain gets used to it. When it no longer expects a sugar rush, the taste improves because it's still getting what it expects. Although fruit and such do help a lot. You don't have to eat it without the sugar, I'm just trying to let you know there's hope to do so if you so desire.
