RE: Silver of the Day #29

At least you know what you need to do. People love giveaways. Most creators probably do giveaways and such on Facebook and have them head to the Patreon account to get the info for the prize or something. A lot of Youtubers like to get subscribers. Maybe they also advertise a Patreon account. I don't know. I was never good at all that stuff. Maybe you can figure it out and become a huge star!

Nah. I don't want to be a huge star. I want to be the writer recluse, the one no one knows anything about, that only comes out of their cave every so often to stock up on supplies and make contact with the outside world. Then back inside their cave they go.

I don't need to win a personality contest (wouldn't anyway) and I don't need hordes of people to love me. Because other hordes can hate me, and who needs that kind of devotion or hatred? I'd rather just keep it simple with my family and whoever might want to call me a friend. They can love my stories, and I'll just smile and say thank you. :)

If I could figure out the marketing game, I probably wouldn't be here. I'd be touring the world autographing my books and talking the finer points of my prose. I'd be asking young adults what they got out of the story, or what they think it all means. After that, I'd be retreating to my beachfront property sipping on a refreshing drink and counting my blessings even more.

I guess I would have to come out of cave to do that, though. Maybe I can trade the cave for a secluded beach somewhere. And lots of sunblock. :)

I can't blame you for not wanting to be a huge star. I would rather not have a bunch of people know my face and name. It's easier to just go about my business if people don't know me.

I'd like for you to figure out the marketing game so you can tour and sign autographs. Then you can enjoy your drinks and your blessings.
