I think part of the issue is there's so much money flowing around and so many banks are trying to close more and more loans to keep their growth up that they're pushing loans on people who can't afford them. Rather than being comfortable with decent growth, they have to have maximum growth so they can get bigger bonuses. That means doing things that aren't in the best interests of their clients, shareholders (long-term), or the economy. It seems we learned nothing from the last crash.
